Scenic route through Tafilalet and the Anti-Atlas
On the morning of your tour, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Ouarzazate and driven toward Tinghir, travelling along the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs, the Valley of Roses, and the Dadès Valley. A stop will be made at the impressive Dades Gorges to admire its rock formations, including the famous Monkey Fingers Canyon, before continuing to the dramatic Todra Gorge. The journey then proceeds to the Merzouga Desert, crossing extensive palm groves with a stop for lunch before reaching Erfoud. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you’ll begin a camel ride toward your desert haima, where you’ll spend the night. The day concludes with a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars, surrounded by the tranquillity of the Sahara.
Begin with a camel ride at sunrise over the spectacular Erg Chebbi, then return to camp for a shower and breakfast. The journey continues toward the Tafilalet Palm Grove near Rissani, the historic town of the Alaouite dynasty. We’ll travel through the Anti-Atlas, passing viewpoints overlooking Tazarine and N’kob, before crossing the Tizi N’Tnifift mountain pass and arriving back in Ouarzazate around 5 pm. Accommodation You can choose between standard and luxury haimas in the Merzouga Desert. Both categories do not offer single rooms; double, triple, or family rooms are available with a supplement for solo travellers. Standard haimas accommodate up to 4 people, each with a private bathroom. Luxury haimas accommodate up to 5 people, also with private bathrooms. During peak seasons, standard camps may use shared bathrooms. Luxury camps offer air conditioning for an additional €30 per person.
