Description
Journey from Marrakech through the High Atlas, Ait Ben Haddou and Todra Gorge to the dunes of Merzouga. Ride a camel at sunset and enjoy dinner, drumming and a night under the stars at an Amazigh camp. This shared 3-day adventure includes transport, two nights’ accommodation, breakfasts and dinners.

Day 1 · Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley
Your adventure begins with a morning pickup in Marrakech. Head into the High Atlas and cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2,260 metres, stopping along the way to photograph mountain scenery and Amazigh villages. In the early afternoon, explore Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified village that has featured in many famous films. Wander its earthen lanes and discover the architecture that makes this place so memorable. Continue past Ouarzazate and through the Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley, where you’ll enjoy dinner and spend your first night in a hotel.
Day 2 · Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga
After breakfast, head to Todra Gorge for a walk between dramatic red cliffs reaching up to 300 metres high. The journey continues through palm groves and desert villages towards Merzouga. In the late afternoon, swap your vehicle for a camel and make your way into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Take in the quiet surroundings as the setting sun turns the sand golden. At the camp, enjoy dinner and an evening of traditional drumming. Take a moment to look up at the stars before settling into your tent for the night.
Day 3 · Merzouga – High Atlas – Marrakech
An early start comes with a special reward: watching the sunrise bring fresh colour to the dunes. Ride back to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower before beginning the journey to Marrakech. It’s a long day on the road, with changing scenery through the southern valleys and back over the High Atlas. There will be stops for lunch and photos along the way. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening, bringing your three-day mountain and desert adventure to a close.
