Camel ride and dinner under the stars in the Merzouga Desert
On this 4 day trip from Marrakech to Fez, you’ll explore the heart of Morocco and venture into the stunning Merzouga Desert.
Your journey begins with pickup from your Marrakech airport or hotel. We’ll travel through the Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizi n'Tichka, the highest road pass in Morocco. Our first major stop is the iconic Aït Benhaddou, a famous filming location featured in numerous international productions. We’ll then continue to Skoura to visit the historic Kasbah Amridil. The day concludes with dinner in the scenic Dades Valley.
After breakfast, we’ll head to the impressive Todra Gorges to explore its stunning landscapes. We’ll then visit a traditional marble workshop in Erfoud before continuing toward the Merzouga Desert. Arriving by sunset, you’ll enjoy a camel ride through the dunes and dine under the stars.
Experience sunrise in the Merzouga Desert and enjoy breakfast with breathtaking views. Then embark on an off-road tour of the Erg Chebbi, visit the village of Khamlia, and return to your riad for dinner.
After breakfast, we’ll travel north to Rissani, the ancient capital of the Alawite sultans. We’ll then continue through the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas to reach Ifrane, before finally arriving in Fez. You’ll be transferred to the airport or your hotel three hours prior to departure. Accommodation Choose between Standard or Luxury hotel options: Standard Hotels (2–3 stars) Dades Valley (first night): Hotel Babylon Dades, Auberge Panorama, Kasbah Tifawen or similar. Merzouga (second night): Standard tent camp (haima). Merzouga (third night): Riad Mamouche, Dar Tafouyte or similar. Luxury Hotels (4 stars) Dades Valley (first night): Dar Rihana Dades, Ksar Sultan Dades, Hotel Xaluca Dades or similar. Merzouga (second night): Azawad Luxury Desert Camp or similar. Merzouga (third night): Riad Azawad, Riad Madu, Riad Nezha or similar. Additional Information Rooms are available in double occupancy. Solo travellers incur a supplement. Family and triple rooms are available. Both standard and superior haimas include private bathrooms. During peak seasons, standard camps may occasionally use shared bathrooms.
