Tea and oil tasting
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at 287 Rue Oued El Makhazine and head southeast of Essaouira towards the Amazigh village of Ida Ogourd. Get ready to immerse yourself in the colours, aromas, and textures that define this rural region. At the weekly market, you’ll experience authentic local life as residents gather to shop and connect in a lively atmosphere. Donkeys are still widely used for transport, and you’ll even spot a traditional “donkey parking” area nearby. The market features stalls selling fresh vegetables, seasonal fruits, spices, and a variety of local services such as blacksmiths, welders, shoemakers, and barbers. We’ll end the visit with a traditional tea while taking in the vibrant setting. Before returning to Essaouira, we’ll stop at a local argan oil cooperative. Here, you’ll learn how this “liquid gold” of Morocco is produced, watch Amazigh women extract the oil using traditional methods, and taste the final product. After approximately 3.5 hours, we’ll head back to the starting point, bringing the tour to an end.
