Atlas Mountains 2-Day Hike

Meet at the entrance of Hotel Islane in Marrakech to depart for Imlil. On the way, you’ll pass through small Moroccan towns such as Tahanaout, Oued Ghighaya, and Asni before reaching Imlil, located 65 kilometres (40 miles) from Marrakech. The hike begins along the Tizi Mzik trail in Toubkal National Park, ascending to 2,684 metres (8,805 feet) with panoramic views over the mountains and nearby Berber villages. Along the way, you’ll stop at the 100-metre (328-foot) Tamsoult Waterfall before enjoying a traditional local lunch. The hike then continues to the village of Tizi Oussem, where you’ll stay overnight in a mountain lodge with dinner included.

After breakfast, the second day of hiking begins towards Id Issa at 1,800 metres (5,905 feet). You’ll continue ascending to the Tizi Oudid pass at 2,000 metres (6,561 feet), where you can enjoy wide panoramic views over the surrounding landscapes. Next, you’ll head to Matat, a peaceful spot to rest and enjoy a picnic-style lunch. The hike then continues until you reach the minibus for the return journey to Marrakech, arriving at around 6 pm.
