Argan oil cooperative visit
Paragliding over the Atlas Mountains
Visit to Amazigh villages and local homes
On this tour of the Atlas Mountains, we’ll visit traditional villages to learn about Amazigh culture — and then take to the skies with an exhilarating paragliding flight over its peaks!
At your chosen time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech and head into the rocky Atlas Mountains, the range that separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Sahara Desert. Before reaching our destination, we’ll stop at an argan oil cooperative to learn how this iconic Moroccan ingredient is produced for both cuisine and cosmetics. Our tour continues to the village of Azrou, where we’ll discover the daily life of the Amazigh people. If the tour falls on a Tuesday or Saturday, we’ll also visit one of their traditional arts and crafts stalls. Next, we’ll cross the Gorges of Moulay Brahim and arrive at the Kik Plateau, where we’ll prepare for the paragliding experience. After a safety briefing, it’s time to take to the skies. You’ll enjoy an approximately 20 minute flight over Morocco’s rugged landscapes, admiring spectacular mountain scenery from above. After landing, we’ll visit a typical Amazigh home. The residents will share their traditions and serve a delicious lunch with drinks. Finally, we’ll begin our return to Marrakech, dropping you off at your hotel after a total duration of around 4.5 to 5.5 hours.
