Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and depart from Taghazout to begin our journey towards Morocco's coast and visit Essaouira.
During the 2.5-hour drive, we will admire beautiful landscapes, passing through hills and picturesque Berber villages. Upon arrival in Essaouira, a World Heritage city, we will start a guided tour through its streets to discover its history.
Essaouira is known for its well-preserved Medina, charming blue and white architecture, and lively souks, accessible through one of the three monumental gates: Bab Sbâa, Bab Marrakech, or Bab Doukhala.
We will explore streets filled with galleries, shops, cafés, and restaurants, as well as city highlights such as the Clock Tower and the Ben Youssef Mosque, which features a 66-metre-high (216-foot) minaret and beautifully patterned architecture.
The tour continues on Skala Street, leading us to the Skala de la Kasbah, a fort built in 1765 by Sultan Sidi Mohammed Ibn Abdallah. From here, we will enjoy views of the ocean.
We will walk through the port of Essaouira, observe fishermen at work, and have 2 hours of free time to explore and sample Moroccan cuisine. Afterward, we will return to the starting point, concluding a day of 11 hours of sightseeing.
