Experience the best of Fez with a walking tour of the Medina followed by a sightseeing tour by minibus through the surrounding neighborhoods.
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel or riad in Fez and head to the city center to begin a private walking tour of the Old Medina, discovering its most iconic landmarks on foot. Among the main highlights are Bab Bou Jeloud and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, along with visits to historic madrasas, traditional funduqs, and the Al Quaraouiyine mosque university, considered the world’s oldest multidisciplinary university. You’ll also explore residential areas such as the Andalusian and Quaraouin quarters, where you’ll see an ancient hammam, a public wood fired oven, fountains, mosques, and a local msid for children. As we walk through the narrow streets, you’ll gain insight into daily life and traditional crafts, observing the work of tanners, carpenters, weavers, loom workers, and dyers. After a break for lunch, the experience continues with a panoramic tour of Fez by car or minibus depending on the group size, starting at the Royal Palace, where you’ll learn about its history and legends. We’ll then visit the Mellah, the historic Jewish quarter of Fez, and continue towards Borj Sud for panoramic views over the city. After approximately 6 hours, the tour ends with drop off at your hotel.
