Fez Sunset Tour

At the designated time, we’ll meet at the main entrance of the Lycée Moulay Idriss to begin this panoramic tour of Fez and admire its most important attractions at dusk. Our first stop will be Bab Bou Jeloud, the famous blue gate and main entrance to the Medina. We’ll then continue toward the Medina to explore its key landmarks. We’ll pass by the Royal Palace of Fez, one of the largest and oldest palaces in Morocco, and uncover some of its legends. Our next stop will be the Mellah, the historic Jewish quarter whose name comes from the Arabic word for “salt.” As we walk through its narrow streets, we’ll discuss the history of the Jewish community and the once luxurious cloth markets found here. We will then head to Borj Sud to enjoy one of the best panoramic views of Fez as the sun sets over the city. Afterwards, we’ll visit the potters’ quarter to see traditional Moroccan pottery making and learn why Fez developed one of the earliest sewage systems in the world in the 10th century. After approximately 1.5 hours of sightseeing, we’ll conclude the tour back at Bab Bou Jeloud, the main entrance to the Medina of Fez.
