4x4 adventure through Agafay, Kik Plateau and Imlil Valley
Camel ride by Lalla Takerkoust Lake and mint tea with a local family
Scenic views of Jebel Toubkal and traditional Amazigh villages
Discover the spectacular scenery of the High Atlas on a day trip to the charming village of Imlil and the well known Kik Plateau.
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech and set off towards the Imlil Valley in a 4x4 vehicle or minibus. The journey begins across the Haouz plain towards the Agafay Desert, with a stop at Lalla Takerkoust Lake for a 30 minute camel ride or a relaxing mint tea in a Berber tent. We’ll then visit the village of Aguergour to discover local traditions and share Moroccan tea with a family. Continue to the Kik Plateau to learn more about Amazigh customs. Before reaching Imlil, we’ll stop in the small town of Asni and, if visiting on a Saturday, explore the local Amazigh market. Once in Imlil, enjoy a guided walk through the village to see traditional mountain homes. After about an hour, return to the vehicle and pass through Berber villages such as Aroumed, taking in views of cherry and walnut terraces and the highest peak in North Africa, Jebel Toubkal. A traditional Moroccan lunch is offered in Tagadirt at an Amazigh family home. After the meal, enjoy a short walk around the village before heading back to Marrakech. The tour ends after approximately 9 hours with drop off at the original meeting point.
