Discover the four cities that once served as capitals of the Kingdom of Morocco on our Imperial Cities 6-day tour. You’ll visit Casablanca, Fez, Meknes and Rabat — and venture into the breathtaking Merzouga Desert for an unforgettable experience!
We'll pick you up from your hotel, riad, or the airport around 8 am. Our first stop will be Casablanca, visiting the Hasan II Mosque and the Old Medina. Afterward, we'll head to Rabat for the night.
Following breakfast, we’ll tour Rabat, visiting the Royal Palace of Rabat, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas. Our next destination will be Meknes, followed by a visit to the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis. We’ll spend the night at a hotel in Fez.
The day will be dedicated to exploring Fez, where we’ll visit landmarks such as the Marinid Tombs and the historic Mellah. We’ll then dive into the Medina of Fez, discovering its mosques, souks and traditional artisan quarters. Overnight in our hotel.
After breakfast, we’ll travel through the cedar forests of Azrou toward the beautiful Ziz Valley, stopping in Midelt and Erfoud along the way. We’ll then ride camels into the Merzouga Desert at sunset and spend the night in an Amazigh camp.
We’ll watch the sunrise over the Merzouga Desert before breakfast, then travel through the impressive Todra Gorges and the scenic Dades Valley. Overnight in a hotel.
After breakfast, we’ll drive along the Thousand Kasbah road to Ouarzazate. We will return to Marrakech around 6:30 pm. Accommodation Details Accommodation will be in double rooms at the following establishments (or similar options of the same category): Rabat: Des Ouidaias, Hotel Malak, Hotel Annakhil, Riad Meftaha or similar Fez: Riad La Perle de La Medina, Riad Ghita, Hotel Across or similar Merzouga: Standard or Superior Haima Camp such as Azawad Luxury Desert Camp or similar, with variations in capacity and amenities Dades Valley: Auberge Panorama, Kasbah Tizzarouine, Hotel Babylon Dades or similar Pickup & Drop-Off Points The tour begins in Marrakech, where you may select your preferred pickup point — including the airport, your hotel, or any convenient city location. The tour concludes in Marrakech, and you may choose to remain in the city or be dropped off at the airport. Temporary Closures Meknes is currently closed for renovations until further notice. A brief scenic tour around the historical centre will be provided instead.
