Explore Volubilis, Moulay Idriss and Meknes in a single day
Ideal cultural getaway from Fez to three iconic historical sites
On this tour, you'll visit three significant locations in Morocco: the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, the holy town of Moulay Idriss and the imperial city of Meknes. A perfect experience for anyone visiting Fez.
After meeting at the designated time at the main entrance of the Lycée Moulay Idriss in Fez, you'll head west to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city renowned for its remarkable archaeological remains. You may explore at your own pace—typically between 1 and 2 hours—and optional local guides are available at the entrance. Next, you'll visit Moulay Idriss, one of Morocco’s most important pilgrimage sites. This small hilltop town can be explored quickly, with its medina usually visited in under an hour. The final stop is Meknes, often considered the most modest of Morocco’s Imperial Cities. Here, you'll have free time for lunch and to explore key areas such as the marketplace and central square. After your visit, you'll return to Fez, completing the tour approximately ten hours after departure. Temporary Closures Please note that during your visit to Meknes, Lahdim Square and the Bab El Mansour gate are currently closed for renovation.
