2 DAYS TOUR: MARRAKECH - ZAGORA DESERT

We depart early from Marrakech in the direction of the High Atlas, crossing the impressive Tizi'n Tichka mountain pass, at an altitude of more than 2,200 meters. On the way, we cross mountainous landscapes dotted with Berber villages, terraces of cultivation and deep valleys that will accompany us to our first stop. We will visit a women's argan oil cooperative, where we will learn about the artisanal process of extracting this valuable product and we will be able to purchase natural cosmetics made by local women. We continue through a region of volcanic mountains and hidden oases until we reach Agdz, where we will pause for lunch and rest. If time permits, we will be able to visit the Kasbah of Tamnougalt, an adobe fortress that preserves the authenticity of southern Morocco and offers spectacular views of the Draa Valley. Our journey continues along the Draa Valley, home to one of the largest palm groves in Morocco, until we reach Zagora in the afternoon. There we will head directly to our desert camp, where we can settle into our private haimas. After settling in, we will go for a camel ride among the dunes to contemplate the magical desert sunset. Upon returning to the camp, we will enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars, followed by an evening with Berber music by the fire. An authentic experience that will connect us with the tranquility and beauty of the desert.

After a magical night in the desert, we leave Zagora behind and head towards Ouarzazate, known as the "Gateway to the Desert" and the setting for numerous international film productions. We will visit the famous Atlas Studios, where iconic films such as Gladiator, The Mummy and Game of Thrones were filmed. Here we will tour original sets and discover the secrets of cinema in the heart of Morocco. Our journey continues to the legendary Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an impressive adobe fortress declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travelers who wish to do so can take an optional guided tour through its labyrinthine alleyways to learn about its history as a former trading post and its role as a popular Hollywood filming location. We will then continue through the picturesque Ounila Valley, a hidden gem that offers breathtaking landscapes dotted with traditional Berber villages and dramatic red rock formations. This less-traveled route takes us to the Kasbah of Telouet, the former palace of the powerful Glaoui family. Although partially in ruins, it still retains impressive details and a rich architectural legacy. Finally, we cross the High Atlas Mountains again through the Tizi'n Tichka pass and descend back to Marrakech, where our unforgettable journey concludes.
