After picking you up from your hotel in Merzouga at the designated time, we'll begin our journey to Rissani, the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty and one of the holiest cities in Morocco. We’ll drive 30 kilometres (18.6 miles) to reach this ancient destination. Upon arrival, you’ll discover the city’s impressive Kasbah and its lively traditional souk. Rissani is especially vibrant on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, when the market is in full swing — the best days to shop and immerse yourself in local culture, as people from nearby villages gather here. Inside the souk, you’ll find a wide variety of products and traditional handicrafts. It’s the perfect window into everyday life in Rissani, offering opportunities to interact with locals and learn about their customs. After exploring the market, you’ll have some free time to enjoy lunch. We’ll then visit the Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum, a culturally significant landmark. Here, we’ll take a closer look at its architectural details and discuss its historical relevance. After 6 hours of discovering authentic Moroccan culture, we’ll return to Merzouga, concluding this private day trip.
